Choose the Connecticut product before you pay

Use the live CCHRS public route when you are requesting by name and date of birth

The CCHRS Name & DOB portal says a public requester may search themself or another person and receive the result as the requester. It requires a name and date of birth request and card payment by Visa, MasterCard, or Discover. The portal covers Connecticut information only and warns that name/DOB matching can create false positives or false negatives.

An agency service code changes who receives the result

If an employer, licensing body, or other agency gave you a service code, enter it in the agency-code route rather than the ordinary public requester flow. Connecticut guidance explains that the code sends the result to that agency; a request submitted without the required code may return to you and may not satisfy the agency. The October 1, 2026 notice changes federal rates, not the state product prices

The SPBI rate notice effective October 1, 2026 says the listed state rates are unchanged: $36 for the indicator-only name search and $75 for personal, full criminal-history, fingerprint-supported, and Letter of Good Conduct searches. The same notice separately raises the FBI authorized-purpose rate to $15 and volunteer rate to $13. Do not collapse the federal change into the Connecticut state-history price.

Online CCHRS and older SPBI mail instructions are purpose-dependent routes

The live CCHRS portal is an actionable online path for name/DOB requests, while the SPBI page still publishes mail instructions for criminal-history services and specialized forms. Follow the route tied to the exact product or recipient requirement instead of assuming every Connecticut check is mail-only or every product is online-only.

Before submitting, keep the identifiers and scope attached to the result

If the record looks wrong or belongs to someone else
